Jaded Blossom Cinco De Mayo Cards

Happy Cinco De Mayo!! I haven't made any Cinco De Mayo cards in a few years so I wanted to get some done this year. I had fun using lots of Jaded Blossom dies. One of my favorite cards I've received is from Julee Tilman, you can see it HERE and she is the person who really got me into all the fun Jaded Blossom gnomes. The Cinco De Mayo Add Ons and Build A Booth Taco Add Ons were some of my first purchases back in early 2024 and this is the first time I've used them--shame on me! 

I also loved how Julee added some "salt" the rim of her margarita so I added some Unicorn Stickles to the rims of my margaritas. I would have done glitter but I had already adhered them to the cards so I went the stickles route instead.

These turned out so fun and I'm glad I finally used these dies! I can't wait to make more at some point!!

MerMay 2026- Make Some Waves

I found this Mermee already colored up and the yellow/orange combo yelled out to me to use her today. She comes from the Sweet November Stamps Mermees Set #3.

I wanted a yellow/orange background for her so I did some ink smooshing with some Distress Oxide inks and then used some Distress Spritz for some sparkle.

I added a few fish because I remember my friend Teresa always says that a mermaid needs a friend!

MerMay 2026- Splish, Splash

It's time!! Time for what? Time for MerMay 2026!! I debated about doing it again this year but it brings me so much joy that I decided I just have to do it even if I don't get a card done every day!

If you are new to my blog, my love of mermaids started with a friend Heidi who LOVES mermaids and my cardmaking idol, Amy Young, who is the artist/owner of Sweet November Stamps. I was introduced to MerMay through Amy and love that each year Sweet November Stamps does challenges each may involving mermaids!

I looked back and I think I've been doing a MerMay series since around 2020. Some years I manage to get a mermaid card done each day, other years not so often but they still make me so happy to create no matter how many I get done.

I actually started creating my MerMay cards in late March since I knew I had some trips in April/beginning of May (I'm actually in Vegas celebrating my 27 wedding anniversary today!)

One of the challenges that Sweet November Stamps usually has is a coloring challenge. I love that each year I can pull out my stash of colored mermaids to get my mermaid mojo going!

My card today is a little wild! LOL! I saw these Merwees all colored up and decided to go for a party, fun theme with bright colorful papers!  Don't they look like they are having the best time!! I really like how it came out and how it's so different than most of my mermaid cards! I used several things from my stash so that felt good too!

I have one final ladybug card for the month today! I used the Jaded Blossom Gnome Friends: Ladybug Die for today's card. So super cute and sweet!!

I paired the cute ladybug with pretty papers from Doodlebug Butterfly Kisses paper pad. For my layout I used one of my favorite dies from Newton's Nook, Frames & Flags.
