I needed a belated birthday card for a friend so I sat down and went through my stamps and decided that the Unity Stamp Set, Seen & Herd, would be perfect! It's so cute and fun! I adore the little birdie and that cow is so adorable!
Lately I've started deciding on a layout/papers before I color my image and today was no exception. I pulled out some circle dies and an old MFT blueprints die set to help with the layout and then I found the Unity Stamps paper that went with the Seen & Herd stamp set, The Soft Side Of The Fence.
The next step in creating this card was to stamp the image onto Hammermill cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then used my Copic alcohol markers to color it in. Copic coloring is still one of my favorite part of paper crafting! I just love watching the image come to life!
I used the following Copic markers:
Grass/Sky: BG11, BG10, YG67, YG63, YG61, YG93
Cow Face: E55, E53, E51, E50
Cow Horns: E57, E55, E33
Cow Body: YR27, YR24, YR23
Bird: Y35, Y15, Y11
Flowers: YR07, YR04
I chose my sentiment, "Oops...it's pasture your birthday" and tried to figure out a way to place it on the front of the card but decided to stamp it on the inside. I always try to do a little something to the inside of my cards to help the card feel cohesive whether it's some banners or just strips of patterned paper to match the front.
To complete the card I adhered all the layers and then added some white gel pen highlights to my image. I also decided it needed a little something so I added some twine on the gingham paper. I popped the gingham layer and the image up on some foam tape.
I hope that my friend likes the card and hopefully will forgive me for being late for her birthday.
Have a wonderful day! Go do something for yourself and go get crafty!
