Inky Paws Challenge #255- Week 1

We have a super fun sketch for the month of August! This sketch features a fun angled layout! Try using this sketch with our Card Layout 7 Die or cut the angles with a scissor or trimmer. Put a different image in each section or keep it simple with patterned papers and sentiments. All themes are welcome as long as the sketch is used.

For my card today I created a fun birthday card--with no coloring!!! I used the Card Layout7 Die with the Birthday Woofs 6x6 Paper Pad for my background. For the sentiment I grabbed out the Happy Birthday Die Set and then added some dogs from the Dog Silhouttes Dies! I think it turned out fun!

Summer Vibes Collab | Surf's Up

I'm excited to be doing a little collab today with my friend, Teresa of the Fresh and Renewed with Teresa channel! We are planning on sharing summer themed creations each Friday through the end of August!

For this week's Summer Vibes I used Surf's Up Anya from The Greeting Farm. I don't think she's seen ink before so that made it super fun to color her up. I paired her with a "vintage" paper pad, Bo Bunny Barefoot & Bliss 6x6 Paper Pad. I really like how summery this card turned out!

Wedding Card Trio

My son recently visited me and had requests for wedding cards. I didn't have any on hand so I sat down one afternoon while he was doing other things and created these 3 wedding cards for him using stamps from Unity Stamps! I love that I finally found stamp sets that help make wedding cards easily that look so good!

Since I made them quickly I didn't keep track of each card's supplies but I did keep track of all the supplies- listed below. I don't know if I can pick a favorite, can you?

Pajama Crafter Stamps Shark Week | Hello Chum

Hello crafty friends! It's Shark Week at Pajama Crafter Stamps and today's card is all about the sharks!

Let's take a closer look at how I created today's card!

 

Ink Blending and Stenciling

It’s no secret that I love patterned paper and that is typically where I start but I have recently discovered the Awesome Sauce that Pajama Crafter Stamps carries and it makes ink blending a dream! I started with ink blending Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink with Awesome Sauce to create a beautiful, blended cardstock. To add some interest, I used the Sunburst Stencil and that same Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink to make it look like light coming down into the water.

 

I felt like the underwater background still needed a little something, so I sprayed and splashed some water onto it because Distress Oxide inks react with water. I set it aside to let it dry.

Stamping and Coloring Sharks

While my background was drying I stamped out the Hammerhead Shark and 2 of the Great White Sharks from the Happy Flappy Stamp Set onto MarshmallowColoring Paper and colored them with my Copic markers and then fussy cut them out.

 

Copics Used:

Hammerhead Shark: W6, W5, W4, W2, E04

Great White Sharks: C6, C5, C4, C2

 

Finish the Card

I made sure the ocean background layer was dry and then cut it, making sure to cut off the top and bottom of the stenciling where it didn’t fit the scene I was creating. I cut this layer to 4 ¾ x 3 ½ inches. I created 2 more layers, one in gray measuring 5 ¼ x 4 inches and one in white measuring 5 x 3 ¾ inches.

 

I cut out a banner out of more ink blended cardstock with the Banner Die Set and stamped my sentiment, Hello Chum onto it.

 

I adhered all my layers, popped up the sentiment onto foam adhesive and then added a few Opalescence Confetti Embellishments because I thought they looked like bubbles.
